Seville is the cradle of flamenco. Famous historical sagas of dance, singing and guitar playing were forged in the neighbourhood of Triana. To help you experience this and connect with Seville through its rhythm, Casa Romana offers private classes to teach you the beat and main steps of an art from that is part of  World Heritage, that has made the whole world vibrate and which has one of its epicentres in Seville.

Ham is one of the star products of the Mediterranean diet and one of the emblems of Spain, especially ham from the Iberian breed of pig.  This medium-sized, dark-coloured pig has traditionally been reared since ancient times in the grasslands of Andalusia.  It was so popular that in the time of the emperors, coins were minted in the shape of a ham. At Casa Romana we offer a workshop to learn how to carefully and skilfully carve this delicacy, which is then packaged so that everyone taking part can take it home with them and remember Seville in the best possible way: through its gastronomy.

Vinum ceretensis, Ceret wine, Roman Sherry, has been famous for more than two millennia.  Sherry wines are exceptional as they are aged organically under a film of yeast known in Spanish as flor (flower), and for their impressive chromatic and olfactory palette. The wines of this region, also known in Spanish as "generosos" (fortified), are notable for their dry wines such as fino, manzanilla, amontillado, palo cortado or oloroso, and for their sweet wines such as pedro ximénez or moscatel.  A tasting-pairing at the ROOF is the best opportunity to learn all about "the mystery of palo cortado", a wine found nowhere else in the world.

Seville is also the cradle of drawing. Two consecrated geniuses were born here: Velázquez and Murillo, painters who have taken the name of the city to the top of art history. To live a unique moment through this technique, Casa Romana bets on drawing classes with renowned artists. Two options, both for children and adults: life drawing with models that will come to the hotel or drawing of the Roman sculptures present in our villas. In both modalities, the experience will be like going back to the old academies or art schools. A unique moment that will remain immortalized in a drawing made by you.

Casa Romana runs a workshop to share the secrets of our prized "liquid gold". The people of Cádiz were already selling olive oil to Rome, and if any tree can claim to be Mediterranean, it is the olive tree. And if any fruit can claim to be from Seville, it is the olive.  In Seville, all the bars serve olives as an appetiser, ranging from the manzanilla to the gordal variety.  Roman women used olive oil for skin care, and it was considered a great perfume fixative, helping to maintain the scent of rose or jasmine.  It is very curious how centuries ago olive oil was classified according to its quality and production, just as it is today.

Mediterranean cuisine is an amalgam of diverse and rich flavours and products, such as fish and seafood from the seas of Cádiz or Iberian pork from Huelva. All this blends into reminiscences of Andalusí cuisine (from the time of the Arabs in Spain) and the inclusion of new ingredients and processes that have enhanced Andalusian cuisine, where traditional stews based on cereals, pulses, vegetables, fish and meat predominate. Casa Romana offers workshops to learn the secrets of our ancestral and our contemporary cuisine.

Seville has been producing ceramic handicraft since Roman times. Triana is the cradle of great potters and ceramic artisans, and the city's patron saints, Saint Justa and Saint Ruffina, were born in this neighbourhood.  In Seville, all the streets, churches and entrances to houses are decorated with ceramic tiles, so one of the best ways to immerse yourself in the city is to learn this ancient craft, and make a piece of your own ceramic in a workshop held in the hotel.
